Daniel Mauk grew up in a small town in Ohio called Tontogany; a real tongue twister for outside folk. Growing up in this small community instilled in him a sense of humor, an appreciation for manners and a commitment to kindness, all qualities inherent in his drawings. Daniel's process goes something like this: observing the world, choosing a human model as a reference point to investigate this observation, and then drawing the face of that model faithfully while taking liberties with the rest of the figure. In other words, big heads/small feet.
In 2008 Daniel earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art education from Bowling Green State University. Currently Daniel splits his time teaching Fine Art to teenagers and growing his portraiture Business.
