As far back as Jim Yarrito can remember, art has been a part of his life. He has experimented with many different mediums, but it was glass that caught him. Now with almost three decades of experience and commitment to this fascinating art form, Yarrito loves seeing his ideas take shape at two thousand degrees. Born from fire, molded into form by the artist, for him there’s nothing like it.
Yarrito has been the recipient of the Dominick Labino Memorial Award in 1993, 2001, and 2008, as well as the Curtis Davis Sr. Scholarship for Glass Art Study from the Toledo Museum of Art. Other Awards include Second Place at the Toledo Area Artist Show in 2005 for Glass, First Place from the Birmingham Art Show in 2002 for Glass, and numerous other ribbons from local art shows.
