Shawne Camp

Shawne Camp's sculptures ultimately represent the flow he fell in love with — combining shapes, curves and texture — to create what has always existed in the stone. If the artist struggles with the stone to create his particular vision, it probably wasn’t meant to be. In that event the artist adjusts his idea to something different. Something that better suits the stone and thus maintains his flow. Often he will clearly see an image in the stone and other times the search begins for a stone in his studio that relays to him what it is he wants to create.
