About the Artist: Mary Ellen GrahamIn this fast-paced “noise” and rigid, pixelated 24/7 world, Mary Ellen Graham has missed the free-flowing expressions of emotion. The symphony of organic harmony found in nature inspires her to create spontaneity in free-flowing forms in hand-blown glass that can unleash a natural purity of form found only in nature. This “quiet,” back to earth, has reawakened the artist's spirit of freedom and spontaneity of emotions, blending as one with nature, forgetting the demanding “noise” and rigidity of a technical society.
Her work has been featured in private collections throughout the world and includes major installations. Work has been included in recent exhibitions at the Alden B. Dow Museum, Midland, MI; the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, OH; the National Liberty Museum, Philadelphia, PA; Zanesville Museum of Art, Zanesville, OH; the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery, Dearborn, MI; The Arts Center, Bay City, MI; Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA; and the Upper Arlington Cultural Center, Upper Arlington, OH as well as Hudson Gallery.
